Ichiban Appaloosas

Brand identity and Content Creation for a Horse Breeding Farm

Year: 2024

Client: Julie, Ichiban Appaloosas

About the Project

  • Ichiban Appaloosa's is a social media brand and Horse Breeding Farm based in the North West. They were in need of branding that made them look "Professional, Fun and not too Serious". Their goal was to build from nothing to create a social media following around this family of Appaloosa Horses, that they could then turn into potential customers once the horses have birthed foals.

  • To create a brand identity that showcases lighthearted fun, while also making sure the project is taken seriously by perspective clients.

  • The name "Ichiban" is Japanese for "Number One", so we decided to implement the colours of the Japanese Flag. The shape combines the circle of the Japanese flag with the iconic splodges that cover the coat of the appaloosa horses. The Reds and Brown not only combine the flag and the horses, but also offer a warm, inviting vibe to the company's marketing materials. They also harken back to the classic imagery of the red barn, which conjures up the friendly, family-oriented vibe that Ichiban Appaloosas needs to build a fanbase, and turn that fanbase into clients

  • Since the redesign, Ichiban Appaloosas has expanded to bring on more horses, successfully sold it’s first foals and is expanding every day.

  • As much as people say “don’t work with children or animals”, I had a lot of fun working with the horses on this one.
